A Note From the Founder

Hello everyone, my name is Tiernan Cabot. I'm now sixteen, but I started Hartford Bags of Love when I was just nine years old. Since then, it's been an extremely wonderful seven years of serving the community along with the help of my family. To summarize, my story is that of empathy. On Christmas of 2016, my family and I served food for the homeless in Hartford as a way of giving back. And after a conversation with a homeless individual, my eyes were truly opened to the issue at hand, and there wasn't another second I could go on without doing something. Apart from the obvious, my goal in continuing this project is to inspire kids to find subjects and causes that captivate them, and to inspire parents to listen! This organization wouldn't have gotten off the ground if my parents hadn't. All they had to do was give a simple "no" and none of this would've ever happened. But instead, they supported my idea and fostered an environment where I could express my ideas and give back to the community.
